New 24-measure piano composition in the key of C with 4/4 time that is mostly octaves and sixths and ends abruptly with a B major / D major chord alteration.
My first piece in over a month, Providence. This one is 65 measures, which is quite a bit longer than the music I’ve been composing recently.
The theme is loosely based on the music of Star Trek: Insurrection.
It’s the search for freedom… in musical form.
I will only be posting compositions Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the next 17 weeks.
A great way to pad out a piece of music is to compose 2 bars and then transpose those bars to 3 different keys. Then you have 8 bars of music. Do this twice, then make a variation on your previous work, and you have 32 bars.
